Our Funding Priorities

Who we support

The Birtcher Family Foundation partners with U.S.-based 501(c)(3) Christian organizations to advance evangelism, discipleship, and long-term ministry impact.

We focus on capital projects and sustainability initiatives outside of the United States that strengthen Christian ministries and help them thrive for years to come.

Our primary funding focus is on seminaries, Christian schools, and training centers that proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, outside of the United States.

Capital Projects

We fund capital projects—buildings, land, and equipment—that strengthen the capacity of Christian ministries to teach, disciple, and serve.

Priority Projects

  • Seminaries
  • Pastor training schools

Examples of Other Eligible Capital Investments

  • Campus expansion or facility upgrades for Christian schools
  • Perimeter walls and secure infrastructure
  • Chapels and dedicated ministry spaces
  • Multi-use buildings for students and the community
  • Equipment required for accreditation or certification

Sustainability Projects

We fund initiatives that create practical revenue or financial-stability pathways, helping the ministry strengthen its budget and decrease dependence on outside funding.

A strong sustainability project includes:

  • A realistic plan to generate income or reduce costs for the ministry (not primarily for program participants)
  • A defined strategy for strengthening the local ministry’s operating budget and decreasing reliance on outside support
  • Local leadership and a sustainability model designed for long-term impact

Examples of income generating projects:

  • Campus-Based Rental Facilities
  • Solar Power Installation
  • Small-Scale Poultry Operation
  • Crop Production Expansion
  • Livestock for a Revenue Producing Farm Program
